ELECTRIC SOLENOID OPERATED FEEDING SYSTEM

ADVANTAGES

  • Individual switches in the pit for feeding to production.
  • Master switches to operate all feeders or a group of feeders saves time e.g. in seasonal calving situations.
  • 12 volt power supply is battery operated so you can still operate feeders during a power cut.
  • Double acting pneumatics are used to operate the system – the solenoid valve opens and closes the dispenser and the spring is only used if there is loss of air.
  • This system uses the same pneumatic parts as the AGFECS computer – a cost saving when you update to computer.
  • A standard solenoid system has two master switches on each side but more can be included if required.

AGFECS FEED DISPENSER

Since 1984 thousands of AGFECS feed dispensers have been installed throughout Australia. They have been extensively tested with proven results.

Features include:

  • Sturdy design manufactured from 1.6 galvanised sheet.
  • Precision metering of feed.
  • Easy adjustment to vary amounts of feed dispensed.
  • Designed to be a low maintenance unit.
  • Easy internal access in the event of a foreign body becoming lodged in the feed dispenser or storage bin.
  • Can be installed with most existing dairy infrastructure such as cable or auger grain transport systems, stall gates, headlocks or rapid exit systems.

In 1984 AGFECS introduced the term 'PRODUCTION FEEDING PAYS' This term is accepted Australia wide. Cost effective milk production is essential. The aim is to produce the maximum milk from minimum grain by feeding more grain to the high producers and less (if any) to the low producers.
